Watch Out For Unicorns
I had noticed this sign a number of times before I decided to take a photo of it a couple of years ago, but the sign is still there, I saw it only last week and figured then that it would be perfect for this months theme day, which is Funny Signs. The unicorn sign can be found at Kalvsvik in rural Österhaninge. And as you can guess there are a few horse farms in this area. This is close to the art gallery, so it is possible that whoever it was that designed the sign, got the inspiration from the annual art promenade that takes place here.
This is actually one of my more popular flickr photos. 79 people call this a favourite and it has gathered around 10 000 views.

Only on full moon nights I presume?
ReplyDeleteYou learn something every day! I never knew unicorns lived in Sweden. The next task you have Stefan, is photograph one for the blog.
ReplyDeleteHow many unicorns have you seen lately around Haninge??
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised someone hasn't taken the sign. You must be very law-abiding people.
ReplyDeleteIf that sign was in our neighborhood it would be gone in a flash. And, it would probably be found in our yard!!
ReplyDeleteYou may take it for the most unusual/funny sign out of the bunch!
ReplyDeletei always knew you swedes were strange ;)
ReplyDeleteWell, each year tourist and other people here in Norway, take signs with them as souvenirs, some with elks etc.

En effet, attention au passage des licornes ;o) un panneau sorti d'un conte de fée
ReplyDeleteNo instructions by the sign on how to avoid being skewered by a unicorn horn?
ReplyDeleteWhen three banks in Denmark some years ago was one, the name was - and is - Unibank. They had a logo of this horn, but has now changed it. This one sign is funny, indeed.
ReplyDeleteQuite strange and very funny!
ReplyDeleteNow that is a sign I've never seen before.
ReplyDeleteTourists only steal the official moose warning signs around here tapirgal.
ReplyDeleteThe first time I saw this sign Bill, I decided to to stake out the place and get some shots of the unicorn, but for some strange reason I'm yet to catch one with the camera, weird that Leif, innit?.
Full moon sounds like an idea Nathalie. Staying away from them usually works I think AB!
