The Young Ones

Baby Squirrels

Baby Squirrel

Baby squirrel up a tree

Two days ago we noticed a baby squirrel at the veranda. It was eating the bird seeds on the lawn. Tindra the cat was very interested, but didn't have the energy to try and catch the young squirrel. Yesterday there was four baby squirrels here. All eating bird seeds. For hours as it seemed. Enter Matilda the cat, Tindras sister. So now there are only three baby squirrels left.

  1. Those are the cutest squirrels ever - love their ears! I hope that you can keep the cats away from the rest of them.

  3. They are so cute (shame about the cat but they do have to eat). I wish we had squirrels.

  4. Cute brown squirrels, not like the grey ones in England which are a pest.

  13. The three survivors lived to see another day. I told Matilda's owner what had happened, and she was a bit upset, but then again cats are cats. I took a few more photos and might upload a few to flickr in a day or two.

  16. Happy to inform that they are still alive and kicking. They learned a lesson the other day and are now very quick to disappear up the birch whenever the cats close in on them.
