Two days ago we noticed a baby squirrel at the veranda. It was eating the bird seeds on the lawn. Tindra the cat was very interested, but didn't have the energy to try and catch the young squirrel. Yesterday there was four baby squirrels here. All eating bird seeds. For hours as it seemed. Enter Matilda the cat, Tindras sister. So now there are only three baby squirrels left.
Those are the cutest squirrels ever - love their ears! I hope that you can keep the cats away from the rest of them.
ReplyDeleteThese are adorable. Quite unlike our squirrels.
ReplyDeleteThey are so cute (shame about the cat but they do have to eat). I wish we had squirrels.
ReplyDeleteCute brown squirrels, not like the grey ones in England which are a pest.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots! Funny little things.
ReplyDeleteThey all look they could be in a Swedish Rock band.
ReplyDeleteThese are so darling which makes it even sadder to learn of the demise of one.
ReplyDeleteFind another place for the bird seeds ;-)
ReplyDeleteSo cute ... and so sad. Great shots of adorable creatures. There are no squirrels in NZ.
ReplyDeleteIf our squirrels looked like these, I probably wouldn't chase them out of my yard.
ReplyDeleteCute!!
Our squirrels don't look as cute as these do. Nice close up pictures.
ReplyDeleteMen gud, jag dööör, vad söta! Så där så det kniper i magen. Vad duktig du är.
ReplyDeleteThe three survivors lived to see another day. I told Matilda's owner what had happened, and she was a bit upset, but then again cats are cats. I took a few more photos and might upload a few to flickr in a day or two.
ReplyDeleteHard to beat for cuteness! Shame one fell into feline claws
ReplyDeleteaahhh. little animals are to die for. (i know, bad joke)
ReplyDeleteHappy to inform that they are still alive and kicking. They learned a lesson the other day and are now very quick to disappear up the birch whenever the cats close in on them.
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice color they all had, and SUPERB shots you managed to take!! Bravo Steffe!!:-)
We are down to two baby squirrels now. I found a headless one at the veranda today.
ReplyDeleteNä :(
ReplyDeleteI have never seen anything so cute! You caught them perfectly, either did Matilda.
ReplyDeleteI love squirrels. Great photos. I hope the other three will be ok.

ReplyDeleteSo nice to see real squirrels with that warm red color...
The ones we have here are greyish and look more like small rats!!!

ReplyDeleteWe used to have red ones too, but now very few remain, the gray ones have taken over.
P.S. Hope the remaining two are still alive....
