Spring Vs. Winter

Spring vs. Winter

This is Stabergs Road. Not far from the old tree. This is a shortcut to Västerhaninge from Nedersta. I stopped here just a day ago to shoot the winter part of this photo. The left part of the diptych is from May 2005. Up ahead to the right is the old farm, with the red cottage that I showed you a while back. If you want to see the coolest ever photo I have taken here, press here.

  1. A very clever and impressive way to demonstrate and compare the two seasons. I must say that I definitely prefer the environment in the left photo!

  4. very impressive. I will be hoping to see summer and fall to complete this series.

Your collage photo on your link is spectacular. It belongs on a museum wall.

  5. I clicked on the link to the "cooolest photo ever" and found the beautiful colors of summer pasted together in a colorful collage! I'm tired of snow and winter, too!

  6. I like the comparison. Great idea. I should be careful for what I wish for - (we had a blizzard last night)
Remember that I was admiring the amount of snow in your last post.

  7. I like your "cool" photo taken at a "warm" time of year! Complete with bicycle, freed from the snow.

The two seasons photo of the road is good too. Living in a snow zone sometimes makes me feel as though I am in a new place when the seasons change, with no memory of that "other" place, you know, the one with green plants and humidity.

  8. I went to the "coolest photo ever," and thought, "Hey, that's pretty cool."

But this one's pretty cool, too. You sure have received a lot of white stuff this winter!

  10. this is a great comparison picture. Loved the greatest cool one too. I can't get over how much snow you had in Europe this winter. I'm sure you must all be sick of it. If you are, hang in there, it won't be long now before spring arrives.

  12. You did a great job with this post. It's really interesting to see the complete opposite time of year on either side of the road.

  16. Hey, I love this comparison, quite clever dividing the street down the middle!

  17. That's OK Mr. Poet, I completely understand.

And as Scylla pointed out, this is a very windy area, so walking here in the cold winter weather is not something you will forget.

I hope I can make a few more Different Seasons photos. My favourite so far is of course the one with the old tree. You can see it here.

I haven't done any composites lately so I guess I will have to change that! But here is a Winter version from a few years ago.

That sounds like a plan Dave!
