Meet Kenny
I was on the bike when I noticed this guy. Hard not to see him in that military outfit. Especially when combined with the wild white hair and beard, so I knew I had to ask him for a photo. Meet Kenny. And his dog Smulan who is a Kerry Blue Terrier. We ended up chatting about this and that for ten minutes or so and as I got ready to shoot I decided to take a self portrait in Kenny's sunglasses. Kenny lives at Åby Lund in Västerhaninge and that's where we met. He worked in the computer business for 30 years. He is married and has three kids. His daughter has moved to Ornö, an island in the Haninge archipelago. Kenny told me that the daughter and her husband has a little guest house that Kenny and his wife can use whenever they visit. And as Kenny loves everything about the sea, he visits as often as he can.
Terrific pair of photos, Steffe. I always enjoy self-portraits and this one is particularly smart. You found out so much about Kenny, bringing a second level of understanding to the portrait you've taken of him.
ReplyDeleteNot to be flippant, but when I saw this I was reminded of the phrase, "Two bits and a haircut," or something like that. I think it was a song.
ReplyDeleteNice portrait. What's with the guy in the mirror? Checking his teeth? ;-)
I thought SANTA CLAUS normally wore a RED suit with white trim???
ReplyDeleteIs that guy in the reflection the world famous photojournalist who runs around "interviewing" pretty, young, Swedish girls?
another great portrait. you have a knack to find the most interesting looking folks each with flair and style
ReplyDeleteI agree with the others. You really have a knack for finding a wide variety of people to interview. From suit and tie to punk rocker and everything in between. This is another fine example. Good work Steffe. Like the self portrait too.
ReplyDeletecoucou, on te voit ;o))
ReplyDeleteIf not for his beard, I would have totally missed him he was so well camouflaged.
ReplyDeleteAs for you, I always thought you rode a bike that you pedaled. From your leather jacket, I surmise that you ride a motor bike.
And are those leather pants?
ReplyDeleteFor the way he looks and the way he dresses, I bet he has a lot of great stories to tell.
ReplyDeleteKenny looks like he has a lot to say. Great photo. I like the little dog.
ReplyDeleteWonderful portraits of both you and Kenny. The reflection in the sunglasses is so clear!
ReplyDeleteKenny looks and sounds like a very interesting person. Maybe you'll see him around again another time.
ReplyDeleteThanks all. That's him Leif! If you look closely Antjas you can see my bicycle in the background. As for leather pants, that's something I have never used! You are probably correct Halcyon, after I have met someone and taken their photo I seem to meet them all the time.
ReplyDeletehe looks like he's going fishing - nice self portrait too
ReplyDeleteThis is totally new even for you, a portrait and self portrait using an accessory of the subject... And you did great in both cases!
ReplyDeleteYou are correct!
