Fredrika Bremer Tombstone

Fredrika Bremer Tombstone

Theme day at the Daily City Photo Blog. Cemetery / Tombstone. I visited the 400 year old church in Österhaninge (with the leaning tower), and took a walk through the graveyard. The best known person who rests there is Fredrika Bremer. She was a famous writer and feminist who lived between 1801-1865. I had some problems locating her tombstone, but two angels helped me. If you are interested, I have a photo of Fredrikas summer house. More facts about Bremer here. Have a look at some of the other participants at the theme day:

  3. I agree with Kate. The famous people in the cemetery I decided to show are the rich white men! I loved the angels too.

  4. I am having trouble commenting on the cemeteries (not a favorite place), but your photo shows a particularly beautiful resting place. Thank you for providing the other links, I specially enjoyed the photos of the church and Fredrika's summer house.

  5. The church cemetery looks like a very peaceful place. And interesting narrative for its most famous resident.
