Another Robbery

Searching for the robbers

Police Blockage

A police helicopter above the mall in Handen. There was a robbery here just now. A suspected bomb has been found close to a school, (second photo), Runstensskolan. 240 students have been moved to a nearby school. Police has sealed off the area. The robbers took off on mopeds. When I left the mall it was closed off from all sides. I think it was a security guard vehicle that was the target this time. Bigger helicopter photo.

Tyresta National Park

Dahlgrens Farm

I managed to delete my post from a few days ago so I'm re writing it. This is Tyresta national Park. Only 20 km south of Stockholm. A Natural Reserve with lakes, primeval forests and the wildlife to match. I try to visit every year but missed to do so last year. It's a fantastic place, If you ever visit Stockholm don't miss this place.

After the storm

That Old Tree

A storm hit the country Friday night. Still some very strong winds yesterday as I made my way down the muddy path for this weeks photo of the old tree. Bigger photo. Powerouts around Haninge, but we didn't have any problems. This is my 129th photo of this oxel tree.

At the barbershop

Barbershop

This is Olympiasalongen, the barbershop at Åbyplan in Västerhaninge where I go for a haircut now and then. The barber, Mikael who took over the business when his dad retired is redecorating the place. Giving it a 1950s feel. All he need now is a few good records for the jukebox on the wall.

Armed robbery

Bank robbery II

Armed robbery at two banks in Västerhaninge today. Three men armed with automatic firearms first blew the wault at Föreningssparbanken ( that's my bank btw), and then also robbed the Handelsbanken next door. Shots were fired. Heavy smoke came out from the first bank. Bank customers and employed unharmed but shocked. The area is surrounded by police, including the bomb squad, fire fighters, TV-crews, journalists an onlookers. More photos here. On this photo you see two members of the bomb squad and their cute little dog!

Can you read Swedish?

Can you read Swedish?

If not, it's probably because you don't speak the language. But, it could also be that you have a problem reading mirrored writing. I'm guessing that the creative director behind this ad campaign suffers from a diffuse cerebral disorder. Or is it that he (or she), really know how to think out of the box?

Unlucky Anglers

The Conversation

The Conversation

Me: Any Luck? Other Guy: No. Me: Try to look like you caught something. Other Guy: *@$#$*&@#*

Bigger photo.

It was a fantastic couple of hours. All the snow gone. Sun shining from a clear blue sky. 5C so I jumped on the bike. Headed for the beach at Årsta Havsbad. Quite a lot of people there enjoying the weather. Anglers everywhere, on the piers and in the water (the baltic sea in January can be a bit chilly). Took my usual promenade. Talked to some of the (other) anglers, no one caught anything while I was there. It felt like a spring day really, realised that I was singing as I biked my way back home!

A Moral Dilemma

A Moral Dilemma

So yesterday morning I removed the old washing machine (very heavy old thing that died a week ago). And later in the afternoon a truck arrived with the new machine. I met the workers at the truck and told them that we needed to get the machine in the back door. Not going to happen, we only deliver to here, we lift it off the truck and that's that. I started swearing. They started unloading. Then the guy gives me this package. I'm a bit surprised at first, but then remember looking at a shaver on the web site. In the end he does what I want and leaves the washer at the back door, I sign for the washer and they take off. A friend helps installing it and it works fine. Here's the thing. I didn't order the electric shaver (1000 SEK). And it's not on the bill...

Snowed in DeSoto

Snowed in DeSoto.

The weather in Haninge over the last few days have been awful. Haven't seen the sun for a while now. And the forecast for the rest of the week isn't much better. The snow is quickly melting away. Here is a photo I took at Hammar in Tungelsta after the latest snowfall. A snowed in DeSoto. Bigger photo.

Winter Slide

2008 started with a snowfall. This is a playground at a pre-school in Tungelsta this morning. I took a short promenade yesterday morning to wake up. Met a total of four people. It was a quiet morning.

My best photo from 2007

Winter in Sweden

I realised that it would be tricky (or impossible really), to pick one photo from you guys as the best photo from 2007, so I decided to show you my best photos, not according to me, but according to the people at flickr. There's a secret mathematical algorithm that decides the popularity of the photos, taking into account views, faves, comments and what have you.

Here is the top five, with the latest stats from December 31th.

The Lunar Eclipse. 17 000 views. 60 faves.

Autumn Wallpaper. 4000 views. 85 faves.

Winter in Sweden. 7300 views. 194 faves.

Guess what season it is. 960 views. 26 faves.

The view from my finger. 4900 views. 17 faves.

And from those five, my personal favorite is the winter photo from Ålsta. I took this in mid November after the first snow fall. It shows a house at Ålsta in Tungelsta where a Mr. Wall lives.
